Developed and proposed a draft concept for Cathedral Square and the surrounding areaRan three Christchurch Conversations events featuring national and international
thought leaders to help inspire bold thinking for the red zone
Hosted a Design Jam so young designers could help shape regeneration planning
Confirmed a vision for the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor Regeneration Area
Continued developing a shortlist of broad land use categories and supporting reports for the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor Regeneration Area
Worked with Christchurch City Council and prepared to engage with communities in South New Brighton and Southshore to identify short, medium and long-term options for adapting to the issues and opportunities around climate change and sea level rise.
During these months we:
Engaged on the draft Outline for the Ōtākaro Avon River corridor then released the approved Outline for the Ōtākaro Avon River corridorAssessed community needs, called for community information and looked at technical constraints and solutions for the Ōtākaro Avon River corridor
Held a major Community Day about the Ōtākaro Avon River corridor and began engagement on a vision and objectives for the Ōtākaro Avon River corridor
Launched a land information viewer
Established a Community Reference Group and Technical and Community Advisory Group for the Ōtākaro Avon River corridor
Carried out market research and early engagement for the central city
Set up a central city steering group and began preparing a draft strategy for the central city
Explored regeneration opportunities in the wider South Brighton and Southshore area.
During these months we:
Appointed most permanent staff, including the General Managers who stared in November 2016Collated and published a large range of technical information for the Ōtākaro Avon River corridor
Finalised our Statement of Intent, which was released on 8 November and sets out our planned activities for this year
Prepared and published the draft Outline for the Ōtākaro Avon River corridor in December 2016
Held a major workshop for community groups to help co-create our engagement approach, as well as engaging with numerous organisations, groups and networks
Supported Development Christchurch Limited in New Brighton, contributed staff to a community hub and engaged with key stakeholders in the local community
During these months we:
Appointed a Chief Executive, who started in late June 2016 who then designed the organisation’s structure and began recruiting General ManagersPrepared an interim work programme and the Statement of Performance Expectations
Identified and fitted out temporary and permanent office space
Set up IT systems and a website
Developed and agreed funding and budgets
Developed governance and operational policies and procedures
