Leading United States landscape architect Kristina Hill visited Christchurch and shares her views on the opportunity the city has to adapt to the changing global environment, particularly around climate change and sea level rise. The red zone may be part of this. Kristina's current research is urban resilience and development to enhance a city's ability to recover from disaster events. Hill also Hill discusses her recent work in the San Francisco Bay Area – a region that, like Christchurch, is challenged by a rising water table in a seismic zone. Kristina Hill is Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning and Urban Design at Berkeley in California.
