Investment opportunities

A view of the Green Spine path and river

This is an invitation to private, philanthropic, social enterprise and not-for-profit sectors to let us know you're interested in working together.

The regeneration of the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It cannot be delivered solely by the public sector. You can participate in this opportunity to shape the future of this area and the future of Christchurch.

The opportunities for investment that the Regeneration Area provides are considerable. The vision contemplates significant business and investment opportunities for a wide range of participants: Communities, not-for-profit groups, private organisations, businesses and individuals will play a part in ensuring that this land reaches its potential.

We're interested in hearing from potential investors and developers who have the capacity, capability and experience to deliver the types of projects that might be contemplated in the Corridor through the Regeneration Plan development process.

While we aren’t yet at the point where we can invite proposals, or start any formal processes, we'd like to invite potential private, philanthropic, social enterprise and not-for-profit investors to talk to us about the most effective ways to engage with them as we continue this journey. This will help us to develop more formal processes around investment opportunities.

How to make contact

Please email us (info@regeneratechristchurch.nz) to introduce yourself and what your ideas are. We can discuss your interest from there. We want to understand:

  • How best to work with you
  • Which of the options you are interested in considering for investment
  • How you see yourselves participating
  • What you would deliver; and
  • What you would need in place to attract your involvement.

We are seeking genuine investors

Please note:

  • We are not seeking expressions of interest or development proposals. This is not a competitive bid or tender process.
  • We are not looking for offers to buy or lease land, or land bank.
  • We are not seeking information or requests for investment of public money in projects.
  • We are not in a position to receive offers of services from contractors or professional service providers and will be unable to respond to these.

All information received will be treated as commercial in confidence.
